Obituary for Barbara W. Crain

Barbara W. Crain, age 86, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Barbara was born on December 16, 1930 in Galva, IL to Ray W. and Garna F. (Coon) Hayden. She married Robert Crain on August 19, 1950 in Petersburg, IL and he preceded her in death in June of 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ann Hayden and Garna and Thomas Lowery and two sisters.

Surviving are three daughters, Julie Julian of Peoria, IL, Gina (Ted) Baker of Washington, IL and Jackie (Blake) Miller of Chillicothe, IL; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Barbara worked for Bradley University, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Peoria.

Services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 4pm at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Justyn Smith will be officiating. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church, 9600 N. Broadway St., Peoria, IL 61615.
